1. Men shirt buttons are on the right and women's are on left because
As Buttons were earlier the luxury of the rich so the plackets were designed according to their lifestyle.Elite women had servants to dress them up. So it was quite difficult for majority of right handed servants to close the buttons. Hence,left hand buttons!




2.Lizards as accessories

Chameleons were treated as brooch by women in 1800's because of their ability to change color, making them suitable to go with every dress they wore.. They were chained to a piece of cloth and were so much in demand that people were no more visiting the jewelers. Lateron the society for the prevention of cruelty to animals stood against it making the practice less popular. 
It didn't last long as the girls started wearing these lizards as hair accessories in 1920's again.



  
3. Pink is for Girls and Blue is for Boys. REALLY?

Apparently our history does not agree with it.
According to 1918 edition of the trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department,
'The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink , being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." 





4.The first shopping mall was built in 100AD. WHOA!

Yes the concept of malls is very old! The first ever shopping mall was built in Rome and was named “Trajan’s Market” after the king who built it. The mall had everything that a present day shopping centre has. Shops,restaurants,library,offices and a leisure centre with spa like facilities.




5.Platform Heels

Platform  Heel Shoes were originally made  as shoe covers or overshoes to protect shoes from mud while walking on the street and were known as Chopines.
